According to a Collier’s report, “retailers as of the middle of this year say they will open 3,022 new brick-and-mortar stores. At this pace, retailers will open more physical stores this year than the 3,258 they opened in 2018.” With consumer spending increasing from 3.8 to 4.4 percent from last year, both physical retail centers, as well as online shopping, are likely to grow their sales and customer bases. Which can give us the retail revolution we are hoping for, especially as it regards to commercial real estate.
